As the Executive Director, Ray assists in setting, and then is chiefly responsible for leading the implementation of, LHOP’s strategic vision of the organization. Ray served on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of LHOP from 2005 until coming on the staff in September of 2009. He is passionate about affordable housing issues due to the impact it has on his own life story. Ray spent almost 20 years as a municipal manager gaining experience in planning, budgeting and infrastructure, then served a brief stint as Chief of Staff for State Senator Smucker. He also serves on numerous community boards and commissions.

Kim McDevitt brings over 20 years of executive level leadership and management experience with expertise in growing organizations. Through her leadership, McDevitt has built partnerships with donors whose transformational gifts supported new initiatives that have significantly advanced the goals of non profits in Lancaster, Lebanon and York Counties. During her most recent tenure, she propelled Power Packs Project from being a little known organization to serving 600 families to serving over 2500 families in two counties in just 4 short years. Her drive for growth comes from her passion to empower, motivate and strengthen individuals and families as well as bring public awareness to the issues that individuals face that prevent them from achieving success. As a graduate from Millersville University in Special Education and Psychology, her studies and career experiences have allowed her to gain an understanding of the barriers that families face both socioeconomically and psychologically and has ardently followed this knowledge in building services with strategies and programs that help others to overcome those barriers . She has received numerous awards for her contributions.

Miriam is responsible for the programs and services offered under the Home Ownership Center. She is responsible for providing education to prospective home buyers and administering the Home Buyer Loan program. She also promotes LHOP’s programs and services to community organizations, realtors, lenders, employers, and others. Miriam has earned the NCHEC certification in Pre-purchase Homeownership Education.
Miriam started at LHOP in March 2015 and, previously, was the LHOP Spanish instructor for the Home Buyer Education program from 1997-2004. Miriam was raised in public housing in the City of Lancaster. In her 27-year career, she has been dedicated to advocating and bringing financial knowledge and products to those in under-served markets. She is committed to the “Dream of Homeownership” and to promoting education about housing issues. She believes that every human interaction is an opportunity to teach and learn.
SoWe Neighborhood Director

As the SoWe Director, Jake Thorsen works collaboratively with the residents and community partners in the implementation and further development of the SoWe neighborhood. Jake has over five years’ experience in community development and has worked with residents throughout the United States. He is excited to return to Lancaster after gaining experiences in non-profit management, property development, community development, and planning. He is passionate about creating and developing resident and stakeholder collaboratives to address neighborhood issues. Jake is an Americorps Alumni and a graduate of the Maxwell School at Syracuse University with a Masters in Public Administration. In his free time he enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family.

As the Finance Director, Larry is responsible for the overall management of LHOP’s budget and finances. Larry joined LHOP in July 2013. He served 3 years in the US Army. After the Army he attended college and graduated from Elizabethtown College with a BS Degree in Accounting. Larry has 40 year’s experience in the accounting field, primarily working in for profit manufacturing companies. He enjoys the challenge of working for a community benefit organization (non-profit) and contributing to LHOP’s mission and growth. Larry enjoys watching sports and history on TV, playing golf and traveling.

Barbara Rivera manages LHOP’s reception area, greeting everyone with a smile and directing them to the services and resources they are seeking. Originally from New York, Barbara has become a Lancastrian over the past 6 years. In addition to staffing the front desk, she is our behind-the-scenes guru, updating the website, serving as a notary public, supporting the Home Ownership Center, and more. If you have a question, Barbara can always point you towards the correct answer.
Director Of Development

Serving as Director of Development, Laurie is responsible for developing and building relationships throughout the community by overseeing all aspects of fundraising. Laurie has devoted her entire career to fund raising in non-profits such as La Academia Partnership Charter School, The Arc of Lancaster, the American Red Cross and Resurrection Catholic School. She is a graduate of PSU with a Masters Degree in Public Administration.
Housing Programs Specialist

As the Housing Programs Specialist, Brittany works to connect populations with special needs to programs and resources, supporting education and programming. Born and raised in Lancaster County, Brittany is excited to return to her hometown, bringing more than 5 years of non-profit program planning, management, and evaluation experience supporting vulnerable adults in Philadelphia. She is passionate about the intersection of public health and affordable and accessible housing, with a Master of Public Health from Temple University. Her other passion is the outdoors, having hiked from Georgia to Maine on the Appalachian Trail.
Director, Housing Equality & Equity Institute

Adrian Joined LHOP in 2016 as Director, Housing Equality & Equity Institute. He leads the effort of affirmatively furthering fair housing, by providing training, technical assistance in the filing of housing discrimination complaints, and bringing awareness to fair housing issues through innovative marketing programs and special events. Adrian brings a variety of experiences that span over 30 years in the areas human relations, advertising, marketing and insurance. He has been an active member of the community for over 15 years; having served on many of the local boards like SACA Development Corp., Lancaster Foundation for Educational Enrichment, Latino Education Committee, and Lancaster Downtown Investment District, to name a few.
Director, York Housing Opportunity Center

Born and raised in Reading PA, Marysol grew up in the projects of public housing. She began her career in banking in 2009 and exceled at various positions within the mortgage industry: Bank Support Analyst, Underwriter and Loan Document Specialist. Marysol brings over 17 years in customer service experience, and her previous role as a Housing Counselor gave Marysol the opportunity to grow and become a self-motivated and results-driven person. Her position included coordinating Homebuyer Education classes which allowed her to cultivate relationships with different Lenders, Bankers, Realtors and Insurance Companies while at the same time, developing a Housing Counselor process. Mrs. Carino is certified, through NCHEC, in pre-closing, pre-purchase Homebuyer Education and will be enrolling in training classes to further her education.
More importantly, this newlywed is a proud mother of two kids; her talented artist son Carlos and daughter Miranda, who is currently in her second year of College at Harrisburg University of Science Tech. “I am excited to be given this great opportunity as the Director of York Housing Opportunity Center and look forward in helping working families of the great community of York PA achieve the American dream of Homeownership and provide a bright future through the Homebuyer Education services for first time homebuyers. My work and life experiences have given me valuable insight of the passion people have to want to improve their lives and accomplish their dreams, and I would like to help them achieve that.”

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Susie Gomez has over 20 years’ experience in the business and finance industry. Her background in business management, lending, and former owner of her own brokerage has provided her valuable experience working with private and public-sector firms throughout Lancaster County and Central PA.
She is a graduate of Project Blueprint of United Way and has been an active member of many local boards. Susie loves to volunteer her time with community events and leadership development campaigns.
In addition, Susie is a 1999 graduate of LHOP’s Home Buyer Class and was eligible for a LHOP down payment/closing cost loan. Susie has since paid off her LHOP, which provides LHOP the ability to pay forward the loan to others. Her personal experiences and financial background will be a strong asset to Lancaster Housing Opportunity Partnership and its mission, while helping consumers achieve their dream of homeownership.

Tonya joins LHOP as a Home Buyer Specialist, for our York, PA office. Born and raised in Lancaster PA, Tonya has a degree in business and Finance, from consolidated school of business and Central Pennsylvania College. Tonya brings over 25 years of experience; having worked as a mortgage originator and financial advisor. She has a passion for helping others and finds that her strong ties to the community will further fuel that passion as she works in our York office
