As the Executive Director, Ray assists in setting, and then is chiefly responsible for leading the implementation of, LHOP’s strategic vision of the organization. Ray served on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of LHOP from 2005 until coming on the staff in September of 2009. He is passionate about affordable housing issues due to the impact it has on his own life story. Ray spent almost 20 years as a municipal manager gaining experience in planning, budgeting and infrastructure, then served a brief stint as Chief of Staff for State Senator Smucker. He also serves on numerous community boards and commissions.
Home Ownership Center Director

Miriam is responsible for the programs and services offered under the Home Ownership Center. She is responsible for providing education to prospective home buyers and administering the Home Buyer Loan program. She also promotes LHOP’s programs and services to community organizations, realtors, lenders, employers, and others. Miriam has earned the NCHEC certification in Pre-purchase Homeownership Education.
Miriam started at LHOP in March 2015 and, previously, was the LHOP Spanish instructor for the Home Buyer Education program from 1997-2004. Miriam was raised in public housing in the City of Lancaster. In her 27-year career, she has been dedicated to advocating and bringing financial knowledge and products to those in under-served markets. She is committed to the “Dream of Homeownership” and to promoting education about housing issues. She believes that every human interaction is an opportunity to teach and learn.
Program Development Director

Jim is responsible for assisting developers of affordable housing with technical advice, reviewing affordable housing loan applications for LHOP financing and managing LHOP’s neighborhood improvement program. Jim was one of the founding members of LHOP and was a member of the Board of the original LHOP Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Jim came onto the staff of LHOP in January 2012. Jim is passionate about affordable housing issues because he was raised in a public housing development in the City of Lancaster. For the last 22 years, Jim has taught an evening class on the topic of City Government at his alma mater, Franklin & Marshall College.

As the Finance Director, Larry is responsible for the overall management of LHOP’s budget and finances. Larry joined LHOP in July 2013. He served 3 years in the US Army. After the Army he attended college and graduated from Elizabethtown College with a BS Degree in Accounting. Larry has 40 year’s experience in the accounting field, primarily working in for profit manufacturing companies. He enjoys the challenge of working for a community benefit organization (non-profit) and contributing to LHOP’s mission and growth. Larry enjoys watching sports and history on TV, playing golf and traveling.

As our “Director of First Impressions”, Barbara greets all visitors to LHOP with a smile and genuine effort to be helpful. Behind the scenes, she provides support to all of the staff, in addition to being a technical wiz for our Website page. She is also our new PA Notary on site.
Director Of Development

Serving as Director of Development, Laurie is responsible for developing and building relationships throughout the community by overseeing all aspects of fundraising. Laurie has devoted her entire career to fund raising in non-profits such as La Academia Partnership Charter School, The Arc of Lancaster, the American Red Cross and Resurrection Catholic School. She is a graduate of PSU with a Masters Degree in Public Administration.
Housing Programs Specialist

Marcela received her Master’s Degree in International Legal Studies with a specialty in Human Rights from American University, Washington College of Law. As Housing Programs Specialist, Marcela will assist in the delivery of programs, services, and resources related to populations with special needs, with an additional responsibility of supporting the agency’s fair housing and landlord & tenant education efforts. Also Marcela represents LHOP as Local Lead Agency responsible for the 811 Project Rental Assistance units for Lancaster County.
Director, Housing Equality & Equity Institute

Adrian Joined LHOP in 2016 as Director, Housing Equality & Equity Institute. He leads the effort of affirmatively furthering fair housing, by providing training, technical assistance in the filing of housing discrimination complaints, and bringing awareness to fair housing issues through innovative marketing programs and special events. Adrian brings a variety of experiences that span over 30 years in the areas human relations, advertising, marketing and insurance. He has been an active member of the community for over 15 years; having served on many of the local boards like SACA Development Corp., Lancaster Foundation for Educational Enrichment, Latino Education Committee, and Lancaster Downtown Investment District, to name a few.
Director, York Housing Opportunity Center

Born and raised in Reading PA, Marysol grew up in the projects of public housing. She began her career in banking in 2009 and exceled at various positions within the mortgage industry: Bank Support Analyst, Underwriter and Loan Document Specialist. Marysol brings over 17 years in customer service experience, and her previous role as a Housing Counselor gave Marysol the opportunity to grow and become a self-motivated and results-driven person. Her position included coordinating Homebuyer Education classes which allowed her to cultivate relationships with different Lenders, Bankers, Realtors and Insurance Companies while at the same time, developing a Housing Counselor process. Mrs. Carino is certified, through NCHEC, in pre-closing, pre-purchase Homebuyer Education and will be enrolling in training classes to further her education.
More importantly, this newlywed is a proud mother of two kids; her talented artist son Carlos and daughter Miranda, who is currently in her second year of College at Harrisburg University of Science Tech. “I am excited to be given this great opportunity as the Director of York Housing Opportunity Center and look forward in helping working families of the great community of York PA achieve the American dream of Homeownership and provide a bright future through the Homebuyer Education services for first time homebuyers. My work and life experiences have given me valuable insight of the passion people have to want to improve their lives and accomplish their dreams, and I would like to help them achieve that.”

Although born in Jersey Laura grew up in Southeast, Lancaster. She began her career in banking in 1991 and has held various positions within the mortgage industry: Customer Service, Bank Support Analyst, and Mortgage Origination.
Laura currently has a health and wellness business and works as a title agent and notary as well as a translator. Laura also is a volunteer for several non-profits in the Lancaster Community. Her years of experience have given her the unique tools needed to assist Lancaster Housing Opportunity Partnership’s clients and work closely with LHOP partners. Laura is self -motivated and results-driven, strengths that she has gained over her 26 year in the banking arena. Her current position at LHOP includes working directly with clients in need of financial assistance as they navigate the home buying process and hosting the First-Time Homebuyer Education classes in partnership with area Lenders, Bankers, Realtors and Insurance Companies.
Laura’s greatest accomplishment along with her husband is her six children and nine grandchildren. In reflection of all Laura has achieved she stated the following “as a homeowner, it bring me Great Joy to be able to utilize all my skills in knowledge that I have developed to assist others and also be part of an organization that provides a helping hand in the process to those individuals and families that are seeking to achieve their own Dream of Homeownership.
