Shelby’s role as COO at LHOP centers around organizational management, communications and team building across all programs and staff from LHOP’s three offices. Shelby previously worked in Community and Economic Development with the Lancaster City Alliance where she led Neighborhood initiatives and directed Clean and Safe Programs and Resource Development. Shelby’s professional experience also includes Lancaster City Government and Television News Media. Shelby is passionate about serving our Lancaster community and region with LHOP to advance safe and fair housing opportunities which are foundational to the health, prosperity and growth of our region.
Brittany works to educate the community on fair housing rights and responsibilities and provide programs that support fair housing choice. Born and raised in Lancaster County, Brittany returned in 2016, following work in Philadelphia in the non-profit sector, which focused on program planning, management, and evaluation to support the well-being of adults experiencing housing insecurity. She is passionate about the intersection of public health and affordable and accessible housing, with a Master of Public Health from Temple University. Brittany is a Certified Fair Housing Specialist and a graduate of Leadership Lancaster, Class 2020.
Karra joined LHOP in 2020, and is responsible for overseeing the finances of the organization. Karra grew up in York County, and has lived in Lancaster County for the past 12 years, with the last 7 spent in Lancaster City. She has a passion for helping make a difference in the Lancaster area that she loves. Karra has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Eastern Mennonite University, a masters in accounting from Liberty University and she earned her CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license in 2017. She has spent more than a decade working in various accounting roles, including as an auditor in public accounting, and at a local non-profit.
Laurie is responsible for developing and building relationships throughout the community by overseeing all aspects of fundraising. Laurie has devoted her entire career to fund raising in non-profits such as La Academia Partnership Charter School, The Arc of Lancaster, the American Red Cross and Resurrection Catholic School. She is a graduate of PSU with a Masters Degree in Public Administration.
Miriam is responsible for the programs and services offered under the Home Ownership Center. She is responsible for providing education to prospective home buyers and administering the Home Buyer Loan program. She also promotes LHOP’s programs and services to community organizations, realtors, lenders, employers, and others. Miriam has earned the NCHEC certification in Pre-purchase Homeownership Education. Miriam started at LHOP in March 2015 and, previously, was the LHOP Spanish instructor for the Home Buyer Education program from 1997-2004. Miriam was raised in public housing in the City of Lancaster. In her 27-year career, she has been dedicated to advocating and bringing financial knowledge and products to those in under-served markets. She is committed to the “Dream of Homeownership” and to promoting education about housing issues. She believes that every human interaction is an opportunity to teach and learn.
Jake works collaboratively with the residents and community partners in the implementation and further development of the SoWe neighborhood. Jake has over five years’ experience in community development and has worked with residents throughout the United States in non-profit management, property development, community development, and planning. Jake is passionate about creating and developing resident and stakeholder collaboratives to address neighborhood issues. Jake is an Americorps Alumni and a graduate of the Maxwell School at Syracuse University with a Masters in Public Administration.
Barbara works to support tenants, landlords, and other community members by providing fair housing and landlord-tenant information as LHOP’s Intake Specialist. Barbara has served at LHOP since 2015, initially as LHOP’s Administrative Assistant and has experience in a wide range of customer service roles throughout her career. She is fluent in both English and Spanish. Barbara is originally from New York, and has made Lancaster her home since 2013.
Alaina joined LHOP in 2019 as our Intake Specialist for the York County office. Her main responsibilities include responding to clients as they reach out to LHOP on several fronts including Fair Housing concerns, Landlord Tenant issues, First Time Home Buyer inquires, and any other guidance our clientele may need. She has also expanded her work in the York office to focus on the client experience through marketing and federal housing education while at LHOP. Alaina is a York native and moved to Lancaster for school. She graduated in 2017 from Millersville University with a Bachelor of Art in Geography with focuses in History, Latino Studies, and Mapping. Alaina believes in the goals set forth for the York office and strives to continue our mission; cultivating partnerships and resources to increase the availability of quality, fair, and affordable housing.
Jeremy joined LHOP in 2020 as the Fair Housing Outreach Manager. His goal is to educate landlords and tenants regarding the Fair Housing Act and the PA Tenant/Landlord Act. Jeremy has worked in non-profit since 2014 when he started as an intern for Church World Service (CWS), a refugee resettlement agency in Lancaster, PA. It was there that he found his passion for broader housing issues faced by many in the community. Jeremy has worked as a housing specialist for both CWS and Tabor Community Services and is a HUD-certified housing counselor.
Enicel Enriquez joined LHOP in December 2020 as our new Homeowner Specialist for the York Housing Opportunity Center. Enicel grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and came to Lancaster County in 2004 with her family. Since then, she has called Lancaster her home. Enicel has a Specialized Associate Degree in Business Operation Management from YTI Institute. From 2016 to 2018 she worked for Lancaster County Housing Authority (Section 8 Department) as a Tenant Coordinator. She will be bringing her valuable bi-lingual skills in English and Spanish to her role at the York office. This will allow for greater outreach and communication with the vibrant Latino community throughout York county. Enicel looks forward to adapting her experience and training to assist the York Community in their journey to homeownership.
Mike will focus on the management of special projects, administrative support, as well as communications and marketing for the SoWe initiative. No stranger to LHOP and SoWe Mike interned while completing his undergraduate work at Millersville University, where he earned a BA in Communications and Business Administration. Most recently Mike worked for PNC Bank.
Mike was born in New Jersey, and his family is from Africa, where he lived for 10 years before returning to the US. Mike is quadrilingual, and can speak French, English, Spanish, and Lingala.
