The Community Rental Equity Fund works to help landlords protect their investments while provide housing opportunities for low-resource tenants. This program supports landlords by helping to facilitate effective communication between tenants and landlords, by providing bi-annual unit inspections, and coordinating supports with local social service providers.  LHOP also offers up to 2.5 times the amount of the monthly rent if there are damages to the unit beyond normal wear and tear or rental arrears that result in an eviction.  In exchange, we ask that the landlord waive the requirement to provide a security deposit.

This program enables tenants who are at risk of homelessness, recent immigrants, survivors of domestic violence, and exiting incarceration to change their story through attaining housing security.
